The Miracle Kids Who Started It All
Race for the Kids was born from empathy, resilience, and the unshakable bond between two friends, Jackie Cousino and Tara Stubleski. Both were thrust into the overwhelming reality of having a child with a severe or life-threatening illness. Amid hospital visits, treatments, and sleepless nights, they found unexpected strength—not just in each other, but in their community.
Neighbors, friends, and even strangers showed up with compassion, encouragement, and practical help. That outpouring of love lit a fire in Jackie and Tara’s hearts. They knew other families were facing the same struggles—and they wanted to give back.
What started as a simple desire to pay it forward grew into Race for the Kids—a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families navigating the hardest moments of their lives. They believed no one should walk this road alone, and they set out to build a network of hope and help.
Since then, Race for the Kids has become a movement of people committed to making a difference. Through fundraisers, events, and shared stories, the organization provides critical financial and emotional support to families in need.
